Slow travel is a deliberate, unhurried approach to exploring destinations, emphasizing meaningful experiences, and cultural immersion. I lived Island life in Hawaii for four months from the end of 2023 into 2024. I can tell you that living like a local was an awesome experience!

Here are some benefits of slow travel using my experience to date:
– You learn more about a place and its culture other than tourist traps.
– Slow travel can help you save money on accommodations as I rented monthly and took local transportation.
– It allows me to relish my surroundings, building a routine and living like a local.
– Slow travel reduces stress levels as you are not always on the go (A huge issue for me).
– It promotes visiting local restaurants and engaging in local cultural events like Christmas and Halloween like me.
– It is the polar opposite of an all-inclusive vacation resort vacation as you’re living a normal life.
This is a strategy that I need to prioritize now that I am taking a run at full-time travel!

My monthly travel budget is $2000 USD, but a lot of these places are a lot less.
